Hi everyone,
I can’t believe it’s already March—this year is flying by!
We wrapped up last year with a bang, including the incredible Ride for Hope, where I travelled from Cape Reinga to Bluff on a 50cc e-moped, meeting hundreds of amazing people across New Zealand. It was an unforgettable experience connecting with communities far and wide.
Gumboot Friday on November 1st was another big success, with incredible support from all over the country. From 24-hour challenges—like Brent luging at Skyline Queenstown and Nick & Alex running around Lake Pupuke—to Jason from Fowler Homes in Queenstown, who built and auctioned off a house for us, the generosity was truly inspiring! A special shoutout to our friends at Harcourts, who continue to go above and beyond in their support nationwide every year.
We’re already looking forward to this year’s Gumboot Friday on November 7th! I can’t wait to see all the creative challenges, activations, and community participation as we continue to have important conversations around mental health.
The Auckland Marathon was another highlight, with so many people running and walking in support of our cause—including 7-year-old Jayden, an absolute legend! Why not join the I Am Hope team and set yourself a goal to get active and participate in the Auckland Marathon 2025.
On Monday 24th February, we had our inaugural Crusaders I Am Hope Crusade with Heart Charity Golf Day at the stunning Clearwater Golf Club. It was an incredible day, and we’re thrilled to announce that the Marvel-themed Crusaders jerseys, worn on Saturday, March 15th, will be available for purchase on Trade Me after the game. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Crusaders history!
As always, a huge thank you to our incredible donors and supporters. Your generosity keeps our doors open, allowing us to continue supporting our tamariki through the challenges they face.
If you would like to be part of any of the amazing events we have coming up please email michaiah@iamhope.org.nz to discuss partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
Looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
With gratitude,
Mike King
